About

I have been a serial entrepreneur since my first enterprise which I started at age 9. I studied Mathematics at Girton College in Cambridge, which helped to teach me to think analytically and to test everything I was told. This has proved to be essential in some of the businesses I have been involved with over the years.

I have a strong belief that we do best what we enjoy doing, and I have tried to apply this to all areas of life. My more interesting and amusing ventures have included qualifying as an electrician, performing as a stage magician and starting what later became London’s first bicycle taxi service.

One way in which I keep at the forefront of technology is to offer help to start-up and leading edge companies. I provide due dilligence for investment funds, angels and VCs in order to gain an understanding of what is going on in the industry. If a company that I am talking to is looking for funding I will willingly examine their business plan, presentation and so forth offering tips and in some cases introductions.

I have a blog about Starting your own Business which you can look at to help provide ideas about starting your own business, growing it in a stable fashion and avoiding some of the more common pitfalls of running a company.

As I said I have been starting and running businesses since I was a child so here are a list of a few of the more significant companies which I have been involved with during their early days:
